The present work is a beautiful interpitation of the "Birth of Venus" by the early American Modernist Woman artist - Lucile Blanch.
Among the dozens of early and fine Lucile and Arnold Blanch works that I have owned - with the same "WSU" ("Washington State University") provenance as the present work - this was my favorite, and the only one I kept for my private collection. The painting comes alive with a radiance when lit - due to the type of pink pigment the artist chose to exploit, that dominates the canvas.
Lucile Blanch displayed a modernist stylization in all the works she created - from Regionalism, Social Realism, Abstraction and other diciplines - Blanch devoted to modernism her entire life.
